Privacy Policy

Introduction

At Nodeflip, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

Nodeflip is a browser-based XML and JSON data analysis tool that processes all data locally in your browser. We do not store or process your data on our servers.

Nodeflip Viewer Chrome Extension

This privacy policy also applies to the Nodeflip Viewer Chrome Extension (referred to as "the Extension" below). The Extension enhances your experience by integrating the Nodeflip web application directly into your browser workflow.

To provide its functionality, the Extension requires certain permissions:

  • Download Interception: The Extension monitors download events to detect XML and JSON files based on their file extension or content type. When such a file is detected, the Extension intercepts the download, fetches the file's content, and redirects it to the Nodeflip web application for local processing in your browser. This requires permissions like `downloads`, `webRequest` (or equivalent fetch capabilities), and potentially broad host permissions (``) to function on various websites.
  • Context Menu: The Extension allows you to select XML/JSON text on any webpage, right-click, and choose "Open in Nodeflip". This action reads the selected text and sends it to the Nodeflip web application for local processing. This requires the `contextMenus` and `scripting` or `activeTab` permissions.

Important: All data accessed by the Extension (downloaded file content, selected text) is processed **locally** within your browser by the Nodeflip web application. This data is **never** sent to, stored on, or processed by Nodeflip's servers. The permissions requested are solely to enable this local data handling and integration with the web application.
